The latest edition to the table... |
After a day or so of reviewing Tomorrow's War I feel more in tuned with the Mentat race from Frank Herbert's Dune novels. Add this, subtract this, oh and if X happened last round then add this and/or subtract that. Suffice it to say, I really love parts of the game; both players having a significant role during in each others turn sequence, using different dice to represent how bad ass a unit is (D6-D12), and the Fog of War deck (kind of like the Chance cards in Monopoly).
I think the Fog of War deck has a serious place in 40k. My immediate thought is during the course of a game each player rolls a D6 at the beginning of every round and if someone rolls a 1 then they must draw a card. It could be an immediate fatality to a unit closest to the objective, or a new secondary assassination mission or something bad ass like an orbital strike becomes available... "you never know what you're going to get!" I plan on developing 30 or 40 cards for a trial campaign, but that will be another post.
Anyways, I've fallen way behind on blog updates. Since my schedule at work will be changing for the better my New Year's resolution is to try for a minimum of one post a week. Oh yeah, below are a few items I recently finished. Much more to follow!

If there was ever a model I hated painting, it's this one. |
