Leman Russ - AT-TE Conversion: 50%
6-23-13: Spent a few days throwing the Leman Russ together. Took the AT-TE Model Kit and cut the living hell out of it to get it down to a scale more representative of a Leman Russ. Spikes and chains galore, added lots of armored plates and tons of rivets to more represent the 40K Mechanical Look, and revised the Pilot area to better represent a model could sit in it. So she's Base coated, still needs tons of detailing...
Early in progress to show the scrap parts I cut off, I'm a messy modeler...
And some shots of the base coated model.
10 Bloodletter mixed Renegades: 2/10 Complete
5-17-13: 2 Done, light conversion. New pic to show all that I have....so far.

Armored Sentinels - AT-ST Conversion: 2/6 in progress
6-23-13: Really only started two of them. One is simple "spikey" Choas version, the 2nd will have Bloodletters ripping out of it, hopefully get something together in the next few days pic worthy.

10 "Normal" Renegades: Complete!
5-3-13: Yeah! Barely a 1/4 of the way for the full army...erg.
Thought about trying your hand at scenery? We always use more of anything.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you,.,.,.
ReplyDeleteJust a few more weeks of hell and I'm back.
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty spot on man.. good job.
ReplyDeleteOh, I see now.. the upper legs are for the trench coat part instead of greenstuff. How in the hell did you get the legs so seamless like that?
Welcome back brother!!!!! Looking good.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCrawlers all the way. While they will not be AT ATs they will still convey that feel of a big walker but also the feel of a something big and bulky like a leman russ better than the tie tank.
ReplyDeleteWere you still going like chaos cult? Because the crawler would be a great conversion chance with large chaos-y growths for the legs on a mechanical body. Demon engines or something.
Those AT ATs are one of the sexiest things I have seen in a while. Nerd porn.... sweet.
I meant the walkers not the TIE tank crawler thing.
DeleteSorry this is a drunk posting. In NC having drank all day with my sister before her big day. Good thing everyone is old and checkout early! So I've had few ideas. One is to run Tie tanks and Chimeras....not that I have any on my lists....and run the AT-TE as tank base. My new list is running the Sentinel wall spasm we briefly spoke of a few weeks ago, so huge walker Tanks will look cool I think. Definitely running Chaos Cultists/Renegades. Have few ideas on how to make the troops more Chaosy. That will be much later! The Tanks, oh yeah they'll be glorified in Chaos spikes/trophy racks, chains, skulls, Chaos Marks etc. Thinking of trying the Chaos Defiler as a base to develop an AT-TE conversion...but that kit is HUGE and stupid expensive. Anyone get the Ebay email on possible Sales Tax? WTF!!!!! So no more bits according to GW, higher shipping cost and now extra sales tax????? It's going to be cheaper to buy the full GD kit!!!!
ReplyDeleteDude great idea on the soldiers. It is perfect for you as you are not painting loads of repetitive boring troops. Plus it keeps it in 40k but influenced by star wars. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to purging the unclean.
Jonny! Lets see some hobby shots! Any more progress? Any ideas for a background?
ReplyDeleteSorry for lack of updates, been stupid busy lately. I was reading some of the old Rogue Trader and 2nd Edition fluff. I found a section dealing with Genestealer Cults that can have Demons and Chaos influence. What happens is the Magus is fanatical with taking over a Planet, if the influence of his Cult is not spreading fast enough, he'll turn to Chaos to help his influence. Once the Genestealers sense the presence of Chaos, they abandon the Cult and go to another colony to "try again". So essentially you're left with a Genestealer Cult with no Genestealers, but thrown in some Demons for good measure.
ReplyDeleteSo what I'm thinking is my Genestealer Cult's years of getting their asses kicked has made the Magus turn to Chaos to assist in the destruction of the THeX Corps. And I may thrown in an Allied detachment of Demons for good measure.
Also, I wanted to see how you guys felt if I decided to use the old Daemonettes, the awesome top-less ones. By far the best miniature GW has ever done with regards to Chaos. Do you guys have a problem if I use them? Do I need to make them more PG? I can green-stuff "covers" for their chests....
ReplyDeleteDude! Story concept sounds original and plays to your narrative very well! I'm Surprised GW hasn't gone with that already.
ReplyDeleteI have no problem with miniature nudity!!! :D
This is totally up to Joel. It's been over 3x years since this has been a concern. Joel, are you still... you know? :)
"...concerned with how the female might possibly be a mutant, spawned from chaos."
DeleteHahahahaha! This is totally not what I was going to say, but I realize our youths may be tuning in.
I don't mind the nudity but having them strapped to banners, sodomized, and used as trophies was a bit much.
ReplyDeleteYeah go ahead, a little mutant boob never hurt anybody.
Has it really been 3 years?
Looking good bro!!! Love the red daemon parts... sets off the winter white very well!
