So, all I'm all moved in and wouldn't you know it, the 40K bug has infected me with its poison. The man-cub and I checked out the local gaming centers and they're stacked pretty good. Smell of the place was more like JP5 than the typical game shop standard of super glue and body funk... not that I mind the super glue.
I've been bouncing back and forth between Black Templars and Orks. It would seem that I have settled on the men in black for the time being. Will start up where I left on back in the main land... Grymm the Dreadnought is already on the new paint table. Speaking of paint table, I've convinced the wife to allow a room in the house to act as a study/painting room. I went out and bought a custom couch and table set and voila perfection! With no TV in the room I'm certain to get twice the work done. Pics of the room to follow after I get my carpet.
Anyways, I've run into an old haunt who has expressed an string interest in joining the 40K hobby. I shall assimilate him and he will join the counsel of peers. In fact, I'm certain I will be able to find several people from work to bring into the fold. Playing between houses is so much better than playing from the game shops. I've always found the smells and congestion of the game shops to be significantly distracting... not to mention there's no beer or spirits allowed! I like to get blitzed to the point where my models talk to me... just kidding. I do like to get a good buzz on though. In any case, playing a campaign among friends is much better than playing with a bunch of dudes and chicks you don't know. You can all post your version of the story on the blog site and you get to observe everyone's painting skills increase. Joel, if you are reading this I have been very impressed with how far you have come!
Time to go to war gentlemen! Ryan, welcome to the blog.

ReplyDeleteI... am... your... father...
Yes I am reading it and thank you for the compliments but I still have a long way to go to get to you and Jonny's level.
ReplyDeleteCome to think about it, Mark Strong (Lord Blackwood in Sherlock Holmes) is Captain Titus of the Ultramarines in the game and it makes me wonder if he is a 40k fan.
ReplyDeleteSWEET!
