I have seen this all before...
The battle field is a light
With combat of all types
I order overlapping fire, I order the assault
I order the charge of Grymm the Dreadnought
Brother Initiates scream down from the sky
Destroying the demons of Terror's Eye
A champion of chaos steps forth howling curses upon me
I raise my weapon and blast him into three
The wind howls, the Thunderhawks scream
I leave this planet decimated, a forgotten dream
The Emperor wills it
His Angels of Death instill it
I have seen this all before...
Damn dude! Love the head wound. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteThe detailing on the handle of the war hammer is great. Great write up too.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a great looking model. The animal fur around his head turned out well. I figured it was going to be painted off white and wasn't sure what it was going to look like against his head but the head wound off sets the off white pretty well.
Thanks fellas! The Counsel is most motivating.
ReplyDeleteThe Marshal took two days of dedicated painting (prob 8 hours). I'm sprucing up some of the lesser detail work and hurriedly removing the wayward speckles of snow that are detracting... damn flash.
Took me a while to figure out what I was going to do with his blank canvas for a head. I worked with tattoos and half a dozen different ways to represent head trauma. I eventually came up with the three fingered claw mark. I used purple, red gore, blood red and gloss varnish. I outlined parts of it with a thin black lining pen which makes it look as though its started scabbing up.
Thanks for the props on the handle, Joel. I used 2x different shades of turquoise and a couple of washes. I wanted it to clash with the normal order of weapon colors... like it was a relic and not something that always belonged to the Marshal.
I used a lot more snow on this model's base and it really amplifies all of the colors on the model... thankful for Joel's snow theme. I may add some kind of small icon into the patch at his feet.
