Templars Rising - Current Builds

Dudes! Joel has been doing such a good job converting and posting that I've been motivated to stay on track. In addition to what's shown in the images I've got a Drop pod and a couple more Terminators. Much blood was spilled in these conversions. Happy to be shifting back to painting so my finger tips can heal up.  Might take as much as 3 weeks to get through all this stuff but going to try to push for 2 weeks.

Also bought some stuff on Ebay which is trickling in every couple of days. Have to stay on schedule!!

Not in this image is an antenna I made out of a brass rod and a small skull which helps balance the model out.
Cenobytes give me an additional inch of movement during my Righteous Zeal movement. So if I have a chaplain in a squad with three cenobytes and they take a single casualty then they move forward D6+3".
I mounted a LandRaider sized assault cannon to the terminator which is significantly larger than the normal Terminator sized Cannons. Each Terminator took around 2 hours to convert. Cool thing about Templar Terminator squads (vs normal marines) are they can have 2x Cannons per squad. Thats 8 shots of Rending death baby!!

  1. I like the terminator with the autocannon. The chain is a nice touch. I wish I could see where the metal meets the plastic. That had to be a pain.

Are you using inquisition models as the cenobytes?

In the second to last picture the guy with the powersword(?) has a nice pose.

In the bottom picture, are those christmas lights in the background already?

  2. Thanks dude. The heavy weapons were a bitch to mount and will look 10 times better when the chains are adorned with purity seals. There is glue through out the chain which pins it to itself and to the plastic of the model. It took me years to find affordable 40k sized chain. When I found it I bought tons of it so if you need any hit me up.

Good catch with the Inquisitor Cenobytes. They came with an I. command group I bought in England. I'll eventually paint the whole group for Apocalypse games but for now I'm going to use the Cenobytes for my Chaplain.

I got the skirt from a Dark Angels sprue. Some how it was in (loose) with a Templar upgrade kit I bought. Dynamice pose and all but there is something about him that just urks me a little.

Yep, since I missed Christmas last year I told Alicia I wanted to see decorations early so she has obliged. I love it!

By the way, I am reading how the Templars are pretty much the worst space marine group to play. A lot of people in the forums are trying to identify their strengths but their inadequacies, due to the 5th edition rule set, are glaring at me.

  3. WTF...I posted something last night....did I not click the final "Post Comment" button. Damn. We'll the gist of my email dealt with the awesomeness of your models as usual. I do have an inquiry into where you go those chains. I want to decorate my Sybarites some to have them stand out from the squad....well that and the whole whips and chains on chicks would be awesome. Crap, still need to order bases. Man I'm tired, I'm so ready for some 40k it's not even funny.

  4. Why not play vanilla marines instead?

  5. That makes a lot of sense. I have an old Dark Angel Librarian I could use. I'm hoping the Grey Knight Codex comes out soon and then I can just use it until the fix the Templar Codex.
