My daemon beckons me now....
So I didn't go on the Alabama trip....now they tell me I'm going (well a bunch of us) to San Diego for two weeks, and I'm flying out this Wednesday...have to love the short notice. They've booked my flight, so this isn't going to be one of those "oh maybe next week" deals. Eh it's extra money I guess. Extra money to pay for my new (well used) ride anyway. The @%!$# Mazda's transmission slipping was getting bad and the stalling out was happening more frequent ....hmmm sounds slightly familiar. I decided to dump the damn car. I know it's a hell of a lot cheaper to just fix the car, but at this point I want something fun to drive as a daily driver. So I ended up getting a Pontiac G8. Dude at work mentioned his son got one and it's a great car. Grant it's a GM product, so we'll see how long she last, especially since Pontiac is now way of the dodo. Honestly I'm glad I bought it, wish I would of bought one last year instead of that damn Mazda. Here's what they look like since everyone I talked to said "WTF is a G8?"

Dude, that's awesome! The man who dies with the most toys absolutely wins! You should def be happy about treating yourself. Are you going to sell the old ride or did you turn it in already? You'll have to stay in touch during your trip. I'm dropping the brush for a month... going to try some kind of MMPORPG online game (not sure what yet)...

It's 3:45 here, so...6:45 there. Still early. Oh my god I can't wait to get a beer and hit the sack.It's great waking at 3:45 to catch a 5:20am flight, then land in San Diego and it was only 9:00am. Then we had to hit the Pass Office, talk to the TPOC (Point of Contact), then finally checked in. Holy crap what a long day. Must have beer.
ReplyDeleteIndeed WTF is a G8? Even looking at it I can't recall ever seeing one but it is nice looking. How long did you have it before you left?

The G8 was Pontiac's attempt at reviving it name before it died. Yeah that worked. So it was built as a high performance rear wheel drive 4 door sedan to compete with BMWs & Mercedes at half the cost. After two years of being built, Pontiac folded. I bought the car Saturday, then was told Monday I was leaving. Kind of pissed me off, but the dealership gave me full value for my Mazda, knocked 3 grand off the price. Paid less for this car than my Mustang, and it is a much better car all around. Like I mentioned before, I'm pretty happy I bought it. Bored? Hey Madden 11 just came out yesterday! Nope, no trip to Tijuana this time, this is going to be balls to the walls for two weeks with work. We talked about trying to catch a preseason Chargers game, but then we realized what we were saying. Later dudes.
