Finished the last guy I had built, now must build and paint 7 mores guys. Per suggestion by Justin, I've updated to a dark grey urban scheme. Looks much better than that mess I tried before. For some reason the highlights are lost in the picture for the bases, they look like just grey blobs?!?!?

Dark Eldar Update 2
Finished the last guy I had built, now must build and paint 7 mores guys. Per suggestion by Justin, I've updated to a dark grey urban scheme. Looks much better than that mess I tried before. For some reason the highlights are lost in the picture for the bases, they look like just grey blobs?!?!?

Wow man... those colors are amazing to look at. How long did this crew take you? Bases are great as well. You'll just need something to break up the monotony of them... like a small snow pile or dead grass clump. These are easily 9s in CMON.

ReplyDeleteDamn Dude, thanks. I think your Black Templars are more refined than my Dark Eldar. I still don't like my inconsistent highlighting. I have to say I'm pretty pleased so far. I like the snow idea, I plan on doing that after I finish the sqaud. Future squads will have skulls, pipes, bullet shells, body parts etc decorating the bases. Just trying to build right now. Ugh they are a pain in the ass.

ReplyDeleteThat is a very strong hilight on the sword. I am not sure of what to make of it.
Are the tabbards the same brassy gold color as the knees and shoulders?
I think the highlight makes it look sharp... an alien blade honed to a razor's edge with alien technology.

I highlighted the sword to heavy. I'll end up touching it up. The tabards are supposed to flayed skin from their opponents...at least that what it looks like on the back of the box. The little white things on the ends are bones. I thought it was a bit Warhammer Fanatasy-ish, but just ran with it. I over did the brass pads, subsequent models will have less. Each model is supposed to be slightly unique in those variations.
