ERADICATION ORDER 66 - Black Templars vs THeX IG (750)

A Templar Strike Force, led by Inquisitor Bale, was dispatched to the Hoth system to investigate a chaotic anomaly on the planet of Trihoth. The taint of chaos had been observed on this planet before; after nearly a century of research it was recently determined a relic of chaos remained on the planet. Order 66 would be necessary to remove all potential life that may have been tainted by the vile icon.



Trihoth maintains the tithe holdings for the Imperium and, as such, a Defense Force resides on the planet's surface to ensure it remains well guarded. Outside of a spike in recent suicides the THeX company assigned are untainted by the chaotic idol and don't even know it exists among them.

As the Templars made planet fall, the Commanding General of the THeX PDF assembled his troops in ceremonial garb and file ranks to greet the Emperor's finest warriors. It was truly going to be a defining moment for the General and great morale boost for his men.

The black armored angels of death approached the outpost in battle formation. Sword Brethren in Terminator Armor led the assault, flanked by two crusader squads of Initiates and one Tactical squad for fire Support. The THeX company remained at attention and watched in awe with broad smiles on their faces.

The General realized what was happening a split second too late. The Terminator's assault cannons began spinning and before he could issue an order, his honor platoon in the 1st rank was raked with hundreds of exploding rounds. Shouts of horror irrupted through out the formation. With the shock of surprise over, the Commissar and Junior Officers issued orders to open fire. The battle was over in 10 minutes.

The Icon of Chaos was recovered by the Templars for Inquisitor Bane to properly destroy.  Additionally, the Templars were able to contest the Communications relay, ensuring THeX Combat Air Support (CAS) could not be called in. Hewing and Hacking through the guardsmen was easy but it came with a price. These guardsmen had been fighting rebels for over a century and did not sell their lives cheaply and many battle brothers were felled this day.

Though this victory went to the Black Templars; and the Icon of Chaos was destroyed, the ramifications of this day will go down in infamy...
