HOPE....err FATHER!!!
Came up with an idea for a Standard Bearer, unfortunately the idea was better than the outcome. I drew it on paper really well, but going to a paint brush on a quarter of the size proved pretty difficult. I may attempt to redo it. Also here are some Genestealer familiars, or just some Genestealer young lings.

That is an awesome freehand banner. Just awesome. Once again I am jealous that I have no artistic skill. I too also though of doing a standard for the IG but I hate that one provided and I have no freehand ability.
ReplyDeleteI did think of just finding a suitable picture, reducing the size, printing it on a good printer, then pasting it on the model. A real copy and paste job!! har har....
If you are really unhappy with it you could just draw it on paper to size and then paste it on the banner or cut the banner of and replace it with the paper one.
I love it dude! I look at that guy and it makes me think of the 360 game Bioshock. It is freaking motivating everytime I click on both of your posts.

I received a joke email of an Obama Hope poster, something clicked in my head and thought what if I did Magus in that shot, then the Standard Bearer was born. His paint job is real blotchy, I ended up adding highlights after seeing the post, for some reason the wash on that blue really doesn't show. Progress is going to halt some this week, uber OT time at work. Always happens when I get into a nice painting rhythm.

ReplyDeleteI totally know what you're talking about with erratic progress. I just finished 2x Burna "Kommandos" but they took me forever and turned out like crap. They ended up somewhere between an erratic paint schedule and lack of enthusiasum. Pictures to follow soon.
